Moški Oktet Suha je bil ustanovljen leta 1981. Sestavljajo ga študentje in učitelji iz male občine Suha/Neuhaus na skrajnem vzhodu dvojezične Koroške. Ustanovitelj in dolgoletni pevovodja in pevec je mag.

Oktet prepeva narodne in umetne pesmi v enajstih jezikih, duhovne pesmi in spirituale.

In English:

The all-male singing group Oktet Suha was established in 1981. It is composed of students and teachers from the small township of Suha/Neuhaus at the eastern end of bilingual Carinthia, Austria. The octet's founder is Bertej Logar, by profession a musical ethnologist, who directed and sang with the group for many years. With his aspiration for the preservation and development of Slovenian singing in Carinthia, he determined the octet's character.

In 1988, Oto Wutte, a music teacher from Mlinče/Müllnern, joined the group as a singer and director. And in the fall of 1989, Prof. Matevž Fabijan from Kranj became the artistic director of the group.

In its first ten years, Oktet Suha has appeared in 300 concerts in Carinthia and the other Austrian provinces. The octet has also performed in neighboring Slovenia and Italy. The highpoint so far has been their three-week tour of the United States.

Oktet Suha's reportoire stretches from Renaissance songs to 20th century compositions. The octet sings national/ethnic and artistic songs in eleven languages, religious songs and spirituals. Old Slovenian folk songs from Carinthia are given new life through authentic audio recordings. Characteristic of the octet are their own vocal arrangements of Slovenian numbers using the wording of native songwriters such as Anita Hudl, Herman Germ, prof. Milka Hartmann, Hanzi Artač, Gustav Januš, Sonja Wakounig-Kert...

Innumerable times Oktet Suha has already guested on radio and television programs in Austria, Slovenia, and America. As well, they have already recorded three cassettes which are still being sold.

Mediteraneo (1987) came out on the one hundredth anniversary of the creation of Esperanto and contains songs of various nationalities about the sea and love. Half of the songs are sung in Esperanto.

Le korajžno (1988) in Ena se mi dopadva je (1991) are mixtures of old Carinthian folk songs and Slovenian ditties, some of which are in the local Podjuna dialect.
