Select a Specified Chapter and Section Range
|
|
You have numerous options:
- To print the terms for a single whole chapter, fill in only the chapter for "Start", e.g., 5.0 0.0.
- To print two or more whole chapters, fill in only the beginning and ending chapter numbers, e.g., 5.0 7.0.
- To start part way through one chapter and finish at the end of a later one, try something such as 3.2 5.0.
- To print a single section, you can follow this example: 3.3 0.0.
- Otherwise, you may specify both the starting and ending chapter and section numbers, e.g., 2.2 2.4 or 2.3 3.2.
- Finally, you can specify what the occurrences should be sorted on:
- Alphabetically only
- By page only
- Alphabetically within each page
The default is by page.

Finding Terms Which Start with the Same String
|
|
This form allows lazy typists to find terms quickly. Simply type some of the characters at the beginning of the word and tap enter. For example, entering bi will find bimodal, binomial distribution, and binomial theorem, but bias as well.

Finding Items in the Definitions
|
|
You can search for words in the definitions. For example, outcome will result in five (5) terms and their definitions being found. If, however, you put the wildcard character at the end, outcome*, seventeen (17) occurrences will be found, five (5) of outcome and twelve (12) of outcomes. They will be listed in order by page number.
