The Megiser Dictionaries

Dictionarium quatuor linguarum, 1592

This quadrilingual dictionary has as the main entry the German word followed by, in order, Latin, Slovenian, and Italian. A second edition is said to have been published in Frankfurt in 1608.

Thesaurus Polyglottus / Dictionarium Multilingue, 1603

This is the second of Megiser's dictionaries to contain Slovenian. It has a very different format from the first. The head word in each case is in Latin, followed vertically by words in an assortment of languages.

Dictionarium quatuor linguarum, 1744

This quadrilingual dictionary, known as the third edition, follows the format of the 1592 edition. It is, in fact, a complete reworking of the original, done in Carinthia and published in Celovec. The vocabulary has been very much enlarged, with over 12,000 Slovenian words which were not present in the first edition. Many of the items are peculiar to Carinthian Slovenian, which is why the sentence data is being provided here in computer readable form.
